The Candlelight Processional
at Epcot Center is the highlight of the Holiday Season at Walt Disney World for me. It's traditional, it's spiritual, and most of all, it represents
the true meaning of Christmas. As you walk around World Showcase Promenade, take part in Christmas traditions
of the nations surrounding the lagoon while angelic voices fill the air from a choir, 450 strong, accompanied by a 50-piece
orchestra, performing the most beautiful renditions of the Christmas classics. Oh and it gets better because in between the
Christmas carols, the story of Christmas is narrated by a celebrity guest who sometimes adds their own voice to the melodic
ensemble on stage. If you haven't seen the Candlelight Processional at Epcot during the
Holidays, you have experienced the Holidays at Walt Disney World!
The Candlelight Processional takes place three times nightly and every three of four days, a new
celebrity takes center stage to read the story of Jesus. There are a couple of ways to enjoy what has become a Christmastime
tradition for me. You can either come and stand in line to enter during the performance that fits your schedule or book one
of the Candlelight Dinner Packages that include dinner and preferred seating in the American Gardens
Theatre. I recommend the latter because you're up close and personal to the performers and the orchestra. And on
the most crowded of evenings, the dinner packages guests are always seated first and then the theatre, providing there is
room, is filled with remaining guests standing in line. You may have to wait for the next show. However, don't despair if
you're not on a dinner package because you can enjoy the show just as much from the area in front of the American
Adventure Pavilion which is how I first experienced the show with Barbara Eden narrating many years ago. Whichever
you choose, you're in for a holiday treat.
